Laura Linney was one of the best American actors to emerge from the past. Her savacious and vulnerable roles have made her a household brand. Born to a well-known playwright's father but was raised by a single mom, who earned her living as a nurse, she was drawn to theatre when having summers spent with her father and eventually pursuing a degree in acting initially as a student at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. In the two years following her graduation, she launched the beginning of her Broadway career. A few years later, she was in television. Her appearances have been on a variety of shows on stage, television and film programs since. She has been awarded numerous prizes throughout her career. These include 4 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations.
